Factual Firewall: Shielding Against Bias and Misinformation

“Bias, like beauty, is often in the eye of the beholder. Facts are your firewall against bias.”

Tom Brokaw (American television journalist/author born 1940)

That makes a lot of sense to me. We rely on our system’s firewall essentially to be the barrier that protects our private information and internal network from the public internet. I go as far as to say, we give it our full trust and confidence that it is doing its job. So, the smart thing to do, like the firewall, is let the facts do their job before it’s corrupted with heresay from others, that cannot be substantiated. We should try to remember that going forward, it could make a better world.
